Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5 NKJV

How many times have we needed to depend on someone at the most critical time in our lives, and they bailed out on us? Some of us have experienced actually being alone, and feelings of being all by ourselves in a crowd. Or maybe we have mourned the loss of someone that was the closest to us and feel no hope of that type of relationship being possible again. If we haven’t experienced these in the past it’s probable we will sometime in our lives. So we have to remember that we have a friend that sticks closer than a brother. (Pv. 18:24) Jesus!

I have heard it said from my Mom several times in my life that I should be grateful for what I have, not dwell on what I have not. Even God’s Word teaches this and goes even further so that our conversations should not reflect the fact that we are discontent. Why should we let the strong desire for things or friends control us when we already have all we need? Jesus. Just the assurance of Him never leaving us or forsaking us should put a shout in our days. After all, there is none like Him. He is the friend of all friends and then some, and when Jesus says never, He means never.
