Surely He scorns the scornful, But gives grace to the humble. Pv. 3:34.

Pride says,
“I don’t need God.
I can do it on my own.
Look at what I did or can do.
What has He done for me?
Where was He when I needed Him the most?
Why did He allow this to happen?
Why won’t He move like I want Him to?
This is too small of a problem to bother Him with it……”

Grace is simply defined as God giving us what we don’t deserve. We didn’t deserve salvation, yet He provided it for us. We didn’t deserve His love, yet He loved us before we knew Him. Now, we are more likely to give something to a child that is cool, calm, and collected; as opposed to a screaming, demanding, acts like we owe them something brat. We are more likely to rebuke a scornful child not bless them. Right? So why shouldn’t our Father? “God resists (sets Himself against) the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” James 4:6 and 1Pet. 5:5.

Humility says it like this,
“I need God.
I can’t do it on my own.
Look at what God did or can do.
Look what He has He done for me.
He was there when I needed Him the most, even though I didn’t feel or see Him.
He allowed this to happen for a reason not yet seen, and all things work together for the good.
He doesn’t move like I want Him to because He has a better way”….

Being humble doesn’t mean we are weak, it means that we acknowledge we are stronger only with His grace.
